Harvesting — AWL Kenya
Landforce Static Forage Harvester
The Landforce Static Forage Harvester is a PTO-driven stationary forage processing machine designed to chop and process napier grass, maize, hay, dry stover, and other fodder materials directly in the farmyard, feed store, or at a processing point — without the need to drive the machine through the field. This makes it the ideal solution for zero-grazing dairy operations and farms that cut and carry forage to housed animals. With throughput of 8–15 tonnes per hour and chop lengths adjustable from 3–25 mm, the Landforce static harvester processes fresh-cut napier, maize silage material, or dry hay into consistent, uniform particle sizes for optimal rumen efficiency and feed conversion. It connects to a tractor PTO at 40–75 HP and can be positioned in a permanent or semi-permanent location at the feedpad.AWL is the authorised Landforce dealer in Kenya, supporting dairy farmers and commercial fodder operations with genuine spare parts and technical service from our Nakuru and Eldoret branches.

What sets it apart
Built to get more done per pass
Fine Seedbed in One Pass
Landforce disc harrows and offset ploughs break, turn, and level soil in a single field pass — saving fuel and operator time.
Heavy-Duty Robusto Build
Landforce's Robusto frame construction uses thick-wall steel and hardened disc blades rated for East Africa's tough laterite and black cotton soils.
Residue Incorporation
Aggressive disc angles effectively chop and incorporate crop residue, improving soil organic matter and reducing disease carryover.
Variable Working Width
Adjustable disc spacing and working width settings let operators match tool width to tractor HP and field conditions.
Fuel-Efficient Operation
Optimised disc geometry reduces soil resistance and tractor fuel consumption during primary and secondary tillage operations.
Proven Field Durability
Hardened steel discs, sealed hub bearings, and reinforced frame sections deliver multi-season reliability in Kenyan field conditions.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
A mobile forage harvester is driven through the field harvesting standing crops. A static (stationary) harvester is fixed in one location and crops are brought to it — ideal for cut-and-carry dairy systems where forage is hand-cut or mechanically cut and transported to the animal.
Yes. The static forage harvester is specifically designed for processing fresh-cut napier grass — the primary fodder crop for zero-grazing dairy farms in Kenya. It chops napier to 3–25 mm for optimal cow intake and rumination.
The Landforce static forage harvester is PTO-driven. You need a tractor with a 540 rpm PTO to power it. No separate engine is required.
For dairy rations, a chop length of 10–20 mm is commonly recommended for napier grass to encourage adequate dry matter intake and rumination without slug-feeding. For silage, shorter chop lengths of 5–10 mm improve fermentation.
Yes. AWL provides delivery, installation guidance, and operator training for the Landforce static forage harvester anywhere in Kenya. Contact our sales team to discuss delivery and setup.
